Meal Delivery Kits – I Tried It!

Have you been getting coupons for places like Blue Apron and HelloFresh in your mailbox lately?  I have, and recently I caved and decided to try one.

I had very high hopes for the experience.  I wanted my family to try some new foods, get some new recipe ideas (because we eat the same things over and over and over), and I wanted to prepare the meals together as a family thing.

The meal choices were family-friendly so not too adventurous but still new and exciting, and cost-wise each meal was about the price of a family night out at a casual dining restaurant.  The meals were delivered and packed in one box for each meal.  It was pretty cool.  Every item was measured for exactly what we needed, and there were step-by-step instructions on the app.  We only had to chop or mix the ingredients and cook them.

My daughter peeled potatoes, and my husband actually mixed meatloaf by hand.  Our family effort turned out to be a delicious meal that we ate together at the dinner table.  Mission accomplished!
