Dumb Criminal Practically Lives in a Cartoon

In a story seemingly out of a Charlie Chaplin film, police say 37-year-old Jason Mackenrodt used a handgun to rob Bangor Savings Bank in Waterville, Maine before running across 4 lanes of traffic to make his getaway. Normally, committing armed robbery and running across multiple lanes of heavy traffic would be the dumbest act one could commit in a single day. However, Mackenrodt upped the ante by slipping on ice in a spectacularly comedic fasion, spilling his loot and weapon in the process. As the stolen money was busy being swept away by the wind and into the welcome arms of passersby, Mackenrodt was in for a journey of his own, this time to jail, as a police officer just happened to be sitting in a parked car nearby.
