For some unknown reason, Netflix UK has changed the ending of “The Notebook.”

Ya know how the two main characters die of old age together in a hospital bed? Well, instead Netflix UK users will see a flock of birds fly over a lake. Huh. In a recent tweet, Netflix addressed the situation saying, “We did not edit ‘The Notebook’. An alternate version exists that was supplied to us. We are getting to the bottom of it.”
The Today Show brought “The Notebook” author, Nicholas Sparks, on to ask his opinion. He dodged the question pretty well. Either he doesn’t want to share his opinion or (it seemed) he really just didn’t have an opinion on the situation.
“The Notebook” premieres on Netflix in the US March 1st. *fingers crossed* we get the heart-wrenching version! -Taylor
