Oh. Em. Gee. I am so pumped to see this! The Lion King originally came out in 1994 and is the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater #90sbaby. And, hello, that music is everything. I have a soft spot in my heart for this movie, so when I heard they were making a LIVE ACTION version, I was stoked.
Production has taken almost TWO YEARS, Elton John AND Beyonce have teamed up to rework some of the original score, and the cast is incredible:
- Donald Glover as Simba
- Beyonce as Nala
- Billy Eichner & Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa
- James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Mufasa
The first teaser-trailer dropped in November and was viewed 224.6 million times in the first 24 hours! And yesterday, the official trailer has been released, and it. is. in. cred. ible.
