Billionaire Pays Student Loan Debt for Graduating Class

File this under the good stuff…

Billionaire, Robert F. Smith (Bob Smith!) is the founder and CEO of an equity firm, Vista Equity Partners. He’s ranked as the 163rd richest person in America and is one of only 13 black billionaires in the world.

He recently made a donation to historically black college, Morehouse College, in Atlanta, and they asked him to speak at their commencement ceremony over the weekend.

At the ceremony, he received an honorary doctorate, and during his speech, he announced he wanted to make another donation to the school: to pay off the entire class’s STUDENT LOAN DEBT!

Smith will be taking care of roughly $40 million of student debt racked up by the class of 400. The crowd’s reaction is hilarious– it took them a second.

Check out the video:

Hey, Bob Smith, there’s a little girl in Illinois who has about $40k in student loan debt. If you’d like to add her to the tab, she’d probably appreciate it… BIG TIME! -Taylor
