When was the last time you used your iPod. Yes, your iPOD, not iPAD! iPod barely rolls off the tongue– it’s almost been removed from the technology vernacular.
Unnnntil this week. Apple announced the first update to the iPod product in 4 years. The updated version will have more storage space and a different internal chip, making it very similar to the iPhone 7.
The external features will not have any updates. It will still have a 4-inch display, home button and camera.
With the update, you’ll be able to store and play more games, including the upcoming Apple Arcade gaming subscription. A lot of tech blogs are calling the update “now as fast as Apple’s least-powerful iPhone.”
Over the weekend, my mom asked me to help sync her moldy-oldie iPod to her iPhone, and there was no airdrop or even BLUETOOTH feature and I was completely bamboozled. The iPod is definitely due for an update, but with iPhones and iPads having more storage space for games, music, etc. won’t the iPod be phased out within the next 2-3 years anyway? -Taylor
