How Much Weight Do You Gain in a Relationship

By Michelle Mitchell Aug 11, 2019 | 4:12 PM

A new study says that the average person now gains a 36 pounds in a long term relationship. The first 17 of those pounds comes in the first year.

So apparently we get emotional fulfillment and stomach fulfillment in a committed relationship.

Good news for the ladies. Well depends on how you look at it. Men gain more in the first year than women.

Your suspicion for why the weight gain is probably correct. The most popular reason, being comfortable. 64% say it’s because they felt like they could relax on their diet now that they weren’t trying to find dates all the time. The next most popular wining and dining. 42% say it’s going out to dinner and 34% say it’s cooking together and drinking.

One perk of being single!
