In This Moment singer Maria Brink opened up in a new interview about the band's latest album, Mother. She revealed that the LP's themes were inspired by her mother Rita, as well as the recent passing of her grandfather and guitarist Chris Howorth's father.

Brink herself has a grown son named Davion and she told us that her family life and motherhood are the most important things to her: “My son is my earth, my world. I'm very private with my really sacred things in my life. I like to protect certain things from, you know, social media or certain things. And so in some forums I'm really kind of quiet about those things, but it's what I'm most fiery about. It's what I'm most passionate about, is being a mother and my mother as well to me, you know. I'm very passionate about my family.”

Brink's mother and another woman who helped raise her, a friend named Laurie Barber, contribute backing vocals on the title track of Mother, which came out on March 27th. The first single is called “The In-Between.”

In This Moment was supposed to head out on a spring headlining tour to promote the new LP, with support from Black Veil Brides, Ded and Raven Black, but those plans are on hold for now.
