There won’t be a Miss America pageant this year due to the coronavirus pandemic . . . so the current Miss America Camille Schrier will become the first woman to serve TWO years.
She said, quote, “I realized now that I’m probably going to be a ‘Jeopardy!’ question. It’s definitely incredible. As someone who’s a non-traditional competitor in the Miss America organization, it’s kind of on-brand for me to do it this way.”
She’s probably talking about how she made history when she performed the first-ever science demonstration in the talent portion of the competition.
She was crowned back in December . . . and she’ll now continue her reign until December of 2021 when a new Miss America is crowned.
If you’re wondering what Miss America is, well, DOING . . . Camille said she’s promoting drug safety and abuse prevention, while championing STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education.
(The unofficial one-year term limit is likely meant to reduce the abuse of power. Hopefully, Camille wields this extra power responsibly!) (???)
Here is a clip from Inside Edition on how she used her skills to take the title.
