Sia Supports Paris Jackson After Backlash For Film Where She Plays Jesus

Sia is supporting Paris Jackson as the 22-year-old faces backlash for playing Jesus Christ in a new movie called Habit.

“Dear @ParisJackson I love you, keep going. I believe you are a good person,” Sia wrote on Twitter. Her message of encouragement for Michael Jackson’s daughter comes after critics started a Change.org petition to prevent the movie’s release. It has over 260,000 signatures so far.

Jackson plays a girl with a Jesus fetish who gets mixed up in a drug deal gone bad – and escapes by dressing up as a nun. Her co-stars include Bella Thorne, as well as musicians Josie Ho, Gavin Rossdale, Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart, plus model Andreja Pejic.

Habit was previously subject to a petition by the organization One Million Moms. The group called the film “sacrilegious” and said it “mocks Christianity and ridicules people of faith.” That petition garnered over 70,000 signatures.
