People are always saying, “You couldn’t remake ‘Blazing Saddles’ today.” And there’s something to that. Even though the movie pokes fun at racism, a lot of the humor is too edgy for today’s more sensitive audiences.
But someone DID find a way to remake it . . . by turning it into a cartoon featuring CATS AND DOGS.
The new version is called “Blazing Samurai” . . . and instead of a black sheriff in a Western town full of white people, we’ve got a DOG SAMURAI in a town full of CATS.
The voice cast includes Michael Cera, Samuel L. Jackson, Ricky Gervais, George Takei, Michelle Yeoh, Djimon Hounsou. . . and Mel Brooks, who directed “Blazing Saddles” back in 1974.
