Not all thespians need to stretch their acting muscles. Some are content to do the same thing over and over and over again. And as long as the checks keep coming in, how can you blame them?
Buzzfeed.com put out a list of 19 male actors who’ve “played the same exact character in almost every movie they’ve been in.”
Like ADAM SANDLER, who often plays “an annoying man-child who hits on pretty women who are WAY out of his league.” Obviously, that doesn’t include his rare serious roles, like “Uncut Gems”.
Here’s the other 18 who always play a similar character:
1. Daniel Craig . . . mysterious, smart guy, with few facial expressions.
2. Dwayne Johnson . . . bad-ass who kicks ass and takes names.
3. Jesse Eisenberg . . . judgmental nerd who thinks he’s better than everyone.
4. Will Smith . . . always the good guy, even when he’s the bad guy.
5. Danny Trejo . . . bad-ass machete killer guy.
6. Hugh Grant . . . vaguely charming, intelligent, British bloke.
7. Michael Cera . . . awkward and dorky boy who looks uncomfortable.
8. Vince Vaughn . . . always a grown-up version of his “Swingers” character.
9. Jack Nicholson . . . he’s played the same sleazebag in every movie he’s been in since “Easy Rider”.
10. Noah Centineo . . . the jock that the main character crushes on.
11. Will Ferrell . . . an overgrown man-baby in every single movie.
12. Jim Carrey . . . he’s the obnoxious, irritating, over-the-top guy.
13. Al Pacino . . . rarely gets a happy ending in his movies.
14. Jackie Chan . . . he’s always this hardened guy with a tragic backstory.
15. Timothée Chalamet . . . the broody boy.
16. Jeff Goldblum . . . forever the slightly weird, quirky eccentric.
17. Robert Downey Jr. . . . always an overly confident snarky dude.
18. Mark Wahlberg . . . he always plays a hyper-masculine and extremely obnoxious man who ends up involved in some sort of action scenario.
