‘Fauci-ing’ becomes the new dating trend during pandemic

There’s a term in dating known as ‘Fauci-ing.’ Yes, after Dr. Anthony Fauci.

What does it mean? According to Plenty of Fish, ‘Fauci-ing’ is refusing to date someone who is dismissive of the pandemic. So if you’ve been ‘Fauci’d’ the other person didn’t believe you took the pandemic serious enough.

If you weren’t aware of it, don’t worry as neither was Dr. Fauci himself. The good doctor found out about it over the weekend during an interview (seen below).

Other dating terms that have come from the pandemic include:

  • ‘Maskerading:’ When someone only pretends to care about wearing masks.
  • ‘Apocalypsing:’ When someone treats every new relationship like their last.
