Being ‘too loud’ most annoying habit of coworkers

By Wes Styles Mar 24, 2021 | 7:07 AM

No matter where you work, there’s “that” coworker. The one you just can’t stand for some reason. Their too loud, negative, gossip too much, have bad breath, or are just overall annoying.

A survey of over 1,200 workers found what behaviors annoy us the most from coworkers.  Here’s a couple of highlights from the study:

  • “Loudness” (aka being too loud) was the most annoying habit (that was Illinois’)
  • 92% of us have at least one coworker that annoy us with the average of 2-5 total coworkers in a workspace. (5% sadly had 10 or more – Yikes!)
  • Over half have filed a complaint with the boss about that annoying coworker
  • 57% have considered leaving a job over annoying coworkers, 29% have.

Other annoying habits included rude/disrespectful, lying, personal calls, talking about their kids, and smoking (we assume taking a large amount of smoke breaks).
