What’s the greatest decade of TV? Any conversation of about ‘greatest’ is usually a big debate. What makes something the better than another?

A new YouGov ask “What decade had the best television?” The options ranged from “1950s or earlier” all the up to our current decade – 2020s, although it’s only 2 years old.

The winner? The 1990s.

During the 90s you had shows like Friends, Home Improvement, Frasier, Fresh Prince, Boy Meets Worlds,  Married with Children, and Saved By The Bell. The list goes on and we know there’s many we forgot. So yeah, we see how people could name it the ‘best.’

The 80s placed second on the list. That decade gave us Facts of the Life, Family Matters, Punky Brewster, The Wonder Years, Perfect Strangers, Alf, Full House, and more. OK, looking at that list it’s tough competition against the 90s.

The full list went:

  • 1990s [16%]
  • 1980s [14%]
  • 1970s [11%]
  • 2000s/2020s (tied) [9%]
  • 2010s/1960s (tied) [7%]
  • 1950s [2%]

What’s your favorite decade and TV show?
