Kelsea Ballerini gives some insight into her personal life on her new album, Subject To Change, and not just about her impending divorce from Morgan Evans. On “Doin' My Best,” Kelsea sings, “I was friends with a pop star / I put ’em on Track 4 / But I wish I could take it back, would’ve never asked / If I knew we wouldn’t talk anymore.” She's clearly referencing pop singer Halsey, who joined Kelsea on her self-titled 2020 project on a track called “The Other Girl.” The song is the fourth track on the Kelsea album.

Taste of Country reports that Kelsea said, “There are songs on this record that I’m a little nervous for people to hear. I’m a human, and life is messy, and there’s some things that I wanted to take ownership for . . . It’s a little embarrassing and a little cringey, but that’s my human experience.”

Kelsea kicked off her Heartfirst Tour at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan on Saturday (September 24th). She will play nine more dates before wrapping the run on October 14th at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT.
