Lewis Capaldi booked his opening act after Rachel Chinouriri sent him a drunken video asking him to take a chance on her.
The U.K. singer-songwriter shared the clip on social media and explained how it happened. She was in the back of a cab when she saw Capaldi post about his tour and as her friends encouraged her, she thought, “what’s the harm in asking.”
So, she opened up her camera on her phone and began talking. She told him ” I can sing songs on stage. I’ll be really good, I’m really nice, I’m really friendly. If you have, like, no one to open for your gig, I will happily contribute myself.”
She told him she was drunk and asked him: “Please don’t ever judge me for this video.”
A few months later, her management got a call and she’s now booked on an upcoming Lewis Capaldi arena tour. Look for Chinouriri to open shows beginning this month.
