Most “porch pirates” will lurk around . . . run up to the porch . . . steal a package . . . and run off. But this guy had a totally different idea.
A man in Georgia named Robin Swanger stole a neighbor’s porch from the front yard . . . the WHOLE PORCH. (???) It isn’t quite what it sounds like though.
The property owner had removed the home from the lot, and had left the porch behind . . . but it wasn’t “up for grabs.” The porch was on private property with “no trespassing” signs.
It was large . . . about eight-feet by 10-feet . . . and was valued at $3,000.
As the cops were closing in on Robin, the police were called to his home on an allegation of domestic abuse. He was fighting with his wife, and was throwing rocks at the house. It’s unclear if he was standing on the porch while doing this.
Robin was charged with two counts of domestic violence, and felony theft for the stolen porch. The porch has been returned.
