The mother of a high school cheerleader in Michigan is upset, because the school told her daughter to “cover up” . . . while she was wearing her official cheerleading uniform.
It wasn’t during a game, it was during school . . . but at the girl’s school, it’s common for athletes to be asked to wear uniforms to school on game days. And the girl’s cheerleading coach told the cheerleaders to wear theirs.
The mother says her daughter was told she needed to put some pants on . . . because if she didn’t cover up, quote, “it’s a distraction to the boys.”
The mom wants to know: If the uniform is appropriate to wear at games, why wouldn’t it be appropriate to wear at school?
The school says it’s not a big deal. They released a statement saying that, “Athletic uniforms may not meet school dress code requirements. This is the case for the length of the cheerleading skirts.”
