It has been a year and a half since Celine Dion publicly revealed that she was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder Stiff-Person Syndrome. But the six-time Grammy winning singer hasn’t given up her fight to one day return to the stage and perform again for her supportive, dedicated fans. In a new Amazon Prime documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, released on June 25, Dion’s recent health struggles will be revealed, along with her efforts to keep her family together following the tragic death of her husband René Angélil to throat cancer in 2016. “I let them know, ‘You lost your dad, [but] mom has a condition and it’s different. I’m not going to die. It’s something that I’m going to learn to live with.” Dion is determined to return to the stage someday. “If I can’t run, I’ll walk,” she says in the film. “If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl… I won’t stop.” (Billboard)
