Kanye West Apparently Told Rich The Kid He’s “Retiring From Professional Music”

Kanye West’s future in the music industry is apparently in doubt. On Rich The Kid’s Instagram story that he posted on July 9, the rapper and frequent Kanye collaborator shared what is allegedly a screenshot of a text message conversation between Ye and himself. In the screenshot, West has written, “I am retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do.” Rich The Kid tries to talk him out of that decision, and references the long-awaited collaborative project between West and Ty Dolla $ign, Vultures 2, which their fans have been patiently waiting for. “Retire? Why ? How ? The ppl NEED you the music you & Ty & we have made was the BIGGEST STAMP in culture to this date In 2024,” Rich The Kid wrote. “Drop Ye about mine & V2 and we do it all over again the kids need you big bra fasho maybe some time to chill but retiring ain’t it.” (Uproxx)
