While speaking with Variety at the Borderlands film premiere on Tuesday night (August 6), Jack Black shared candid insight into the future of his comedic musical duo, Tenacious D. Black quickly canceled all remaining dates on the group’s Spicy Meatball Tour in July, following controversial remarks made by his bandmate, Kyle Gass, at their show in Sydney, Australia. “We need to take a break. Everybody needs a break sometime,“ Black revealed. “And we’ll be back.” When Black was asked if he has spoken with his longtime friend and musical cohort since the incident, Black replied, “Yeah, we’re friends. That hasn’t changed. These things take time sometimes … And we’ll be back when it feels right. Look what I wore today: I wore the Pick of Destiny. I love Tenacious D. It’s probably my favorite job, if you can call it that. It’s a work of art, it’s my baby.” Black provided the voice for the robot Claptrap in Borderlands. (Variety)
