The Golden Abe’s Fantastic Fair Food Contest is a hotly contested race every year at the Illinois State Fair. This year, it was a Chatham ice cream shop – Scoop Du Jour – that captured the big win. Their Donut Ice Cream Sandwich was the overall winner of the event (pictured). The event was judged by Springfield Mayor Misty Buscher, Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello, Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark, and Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Natalie Evans.
