The Illinois Times has announced the winners of the Best of Springfield 2024, and the spotlight shines brightly on Sam Madonia and Sports Radio 92.3 FM/1450 AM. Madonia has been honored with the title of Best Radio Personality & Station. This accolade is a testament to his enduring popularity and the impact of his morning show, AM Springfield, which airs weekdays from 6 AM to 9 AM. Remarkably, the show has just celebrated its 28th year on air, a milestone that underscores its significance in the community.
Madonia’s recognition in this category marks the fourth time he has received such fan-voted awards, highlighting his consistent connection with listeners and his contribution to local broadcasting.
In addition to Madonia’s win, the category also recognized two other notable finalists from Woodward Community Media: Bondsy of 99-7 The MIX and Josh Roberts of 104.5 WFMB. In addition, Derek Parris of Channel1450.com was a finalist in the Best Local Podcast category for The Download with DP.
