Yale University released its annual list of the most notable quotes of the year.  They don’t have to be eloquent or admirable . . . and this year, most of them are neither.

They’re chosen because they’re, quote, “famous or important or particularly revealing of the spirit of our times.”

Like so many other lists this year, Taylor Swift came out on top with “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”  That’s how she ended her Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris for president.

Here’s the rest of the list:

2.  “Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter.”  President Biden.

3.  “In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in.  They’re eating the cats.”  Donald Trump.

4.  “I’ve become friends with school shooters.”  VP candidate Tim Walz, who meant to say he befriended school shooting SURVIVORS.

5.  “Fight!  Fight!  Fight!”  Donald Trump, after the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.

6.  “Yes they can control the weather.”  U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, once again spouting idiotic conspiracy theories.

7.  “Some of you (women) may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.” Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, during his commencement address at Benedictine College.

8.  “Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate Harvard’s rules on bullying and harassment?”  U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik, questioning Harvard’s president on the university’s response to anti-Semitism on campus.

9.  “OMG.”  New York Mets second baseman Jose Iglesias, who released a song of the same name this year.

10.  “The court reaches the following conclusion:  Google is a monopolist.”  U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, ruling in an antitrust lawsuit against Google.
