Jay-Z is denying the new legal claim that he and Diddy drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl back in 2000. But true or not, the allegation may already be having an effect on his wife’s career.
Beyoncé is planning a huge tour next year . . . and she’s supposed to do the halftime show of the Texans / Ravens game on Christmas Day.
And now there’s speculation that the lawsuit could blow her plans out of the water. Even if nothing gets canceled, this will surely cast a dark cloud over everything she’s got coming up.
The sexual assault allegedly occurred during an MTV “VMA” after-party in New York on September 7th, 2000. And the plaintiff says there was an unnamed female celebrity in the room when it happened.
Nobody’s saying it was Beyoncé . . . and she and Jay weren’t dating at the time.
They had just met that year, when she was 18 and he was 30. In a 2013 interview, Beyoncé said they didn’t actually start dating until a year and a half later.
In November of 2001, Jay told “Vanity Fair” that they were, quote, “just beginning to try to date each other.”
Two more quick notes:
1. Jay, Beyoncé, and their daughter Blue Ivy put on a united front at the premiere of Disney’s “Mufasa” last night.
2. Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles LIKED a post about the rape allegation . . . but she says she was HACKED.
