A poll found the average parent spends 67 hours a year negotiating with their kids. If you break it down, that’s 11 minutes per day spent bargaining with them.
With young kids, one of the top things we negotiate about is FOOD . . . meaning food they DON’T want to eat. And their cooking critiques can be pretty brutal.
Here are the 10 most common complaints and insults parents hear about their cooking . . .
1. “I don’t like vegetables.” Fair enough, it’s a classic.
2. “I don’t like the smell.”
3. “I don’t like the way it looks.”
4. “It’s too spicy.”
5. “It’s too mushy.”
6. “I don’t want to eat something new.”
7. “It’s too plain” or “too bland.”
8. “It’s boring.”
9. “Didn’t we JUST have this?”
10. “It’s too chewy” or “too tough.”
The poll also looked at foods kids NEVER complain about. The top five are pizza . . . chicken nuggets . . . fries . . . mac-and-cheese . . . and burgers. So, not the healthiest stuff on the menu.
