A woman whose body was found in a field outside of Springfield has been identified by the coroner. Springfield Police said a farmer reported finding a body in a field Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to 3200 Ridgely Road, where they found the body just outside the Springfield city limits. Investigators say the woman appears to have been deceased for a while.
The Sangamon County coroner identified the woman as Georgia Holder, 51, of Springfield.
An autopsy done Wednesday showed no evidence of injury or trauma. Springfield police confirmed that a family member had filed a missing person report for Holder on Feb. 8.
