Lincoln Land Community College will host the annual Illinois Junior Academy of Science Region 10 Science Fair this upcoming Saturday in Cass Gym on the Springfield campus.
The public is invited to view the science projects on display from noon to 2 p.m. An awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Students will present their research in a variety of STEM fields, including biology, chemistry, engineering and environmental science.
Each project will be judged by a panel of scientists, educators and industry professionals based on scientific merit, originality and presentation.
The event will include students in grades 7-12 from a 13-county area, including Adams, Brown, Cass, Christian, Green, Hancock, Macoupin, Montgomery, Morgan, Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler, and Scott.
Students whose projects receive outstanding scores will advance to the IJAS State Exposition, which will be held May 2-3 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
