Marijuana bust in Taylorville leaves two arrested, yields cash and ounces with the investigation still ongoing

A significant drug bust in Taylorville has resulted in the arrest of two local men and the seizure of a substantial amount of cannabis and cash.

On April 11, authorities executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Shumway Street, uncovering hundreds of grams of cannabis packaged for distribution and approximately $3,700 in cash. Michael Emery, 36, and David Droke, 34, both residents of Taylorville, were arrested in connection with the investigation.

They have been charged with Manufacture/Delivery and Possession with Intent to Deliver up to 500 grams of cannabis.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are anticipated.
