Several Springfield residents are again urging the city council to weigh in on federal immigration enforcement following violence during ICE raids in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Cities around the country are under pressure from protestors to place moratoriums on law enforcement cooperating with ICE, which depends heavily on local police to perform raids.
Illinois law already forbids law enforcement throughout the state from cooperating with the federal agency, but some immigration advocates are demanding Springfield issue a comment.
