A former three-term state representative from Chicago is Governor JB Pritzker’s choice as candidate for lieutenant governor in next year’s re-election bid.
Christian Mitchell served as deputy governor for the first four years of the Pritzker administration, leading efforts for the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act and the Rebuild Illinois capital plan as well as overseeing the state’s medical supply chain during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mitchell is a first lieutenant and deputy staff judge advocate with the Illinois Air National Guard.
