Newly released bodycam footage shows Mary Lou Retton struggling to complete a field sobriety test after being pulled over in Marion County, West Virginia, on May 17th.
Officers said Retton had been driving erratically and found an open “screw-top bottle of wine” in her Porsche.
At the station, she allegedly told police, “I’m West Virginia’s First Daughter.”
The former Olympic gold medalist, 57, later pleaded no contest to a non-aggravated DUI charge and was fined $100 — the standard penalty for first-time offenders in the state. Through her attorney, Retton apologized, saying, “What happened was completely unacceptable. I make no excuses. To my family, friends and my fans: I have let you down, and for that I am deeply sorry.”
