  • Waiting until the person I dropped off gets into the house safely before driving away.
  • When you’re driving and someone lets you into a lane or lets you go first, you wave at them to say thanks.
  • If it’s not yours, don’t open it. And don’t eat the last one.
  • If it’s too good to be true, it is.
  • Don’t sleep with someone you wouldn’t sleep next to.
  • Always arrive at least 10 minutes early. Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, job interview, or anything at all really.
  • One text, two text, no reply, move on.
  • Always buy the first round of drinks.
  • Always tell your friends that you love them.
  • No matter how much partying is going on or if you are on vacation, always be sober for at least three consecutive days per week.
  • Be kind and help people when you can.
  • Always set your expectations as low as possible.
  • When people show you who they are, believe them.
  • Take care of your back.
  • I don’t hook up with friends or work colleagues.
  • Take your shoes off when you enter someone residence, no matter what.
  • Listen to your gut.
  • Put the shopping cart back where it belongs and don’t make someone else’s day worse.
  • If you see a nail, screw or sharp object on a road or parking lot, pick it up. You will most likely save someone else from a bad day and wasted money.
  • Don’t use speakerphone – or play anything on your phone in public without headphones.
