WMAY’s Patrick Pfingsten reports in his The Illinoize that former Illinois Republican Party Chairman Don Tracy is weighing a run for Governor.

Tracy confirmed he is considering a run against JB Pritzker next year. Tracy, who lives in Springfield, served as chairman of the state party from 2021 to last July.

He ran for Lt. Governor in 2010, finishing third in a field of six. He was chairman of the Illinois Gaming Board from 2015-2019.

He is a Senior Counsel at the Brown, Hay & Stephens law firm in Springfield. Tracy says he’ll make a final decision on running for governor by the Illinois State Fair.
