Yesterday, 1.3 million fans tuned in to the Kelce Brothers podcast, “New Heights”, LIVE, to watch Taylor Swift. AND IT BROKE THE INTERNET.
About 1 hour and 44 minutes in, the screen went black and the “New Heights” social media account had to inform fans that they experienced a glitch and would be back shortly. Eventually, order was restored . . . the stream just got cut off.
Here are 10 takeaways:
1. Taylor shared the cover of her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl”. It’s available for preorder on her site. There’s also a limited amount of four different CDs, each with a different cover and accessory, like a necklace or keychain.
2. She shared the 12-song tracklist, which includes a feature from Sabrina Carpenter. As well as the release date: It comes out October 3rd.
3. There won’t be any “bonus” songs. Quote, “There’s no other songs coming. There’s not a thirteenth . . . This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time.”
4. She chose the color orange because, quote, “it feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt.” She said this album is about “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this [Eras] Tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”
5. Taylor’s goal for the album was to create, quote, “melodies that are so infectious that you’re angry at it, and lyrics that are just as vivid, but crisp and focused and completely intentional.”
6. Somehow she found time to work on the album while in Europe for the Eras Tour.
7. Travis says all 12 songs are bangers. Quote, “It’s a lot more upbeat and it’s a lot more like fun pop, like excitement. And so I think it’s a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on ‘Tortured Poets’ for sure.”
8. Taylor says the theme of the album, quote, “isn’t really about what happened to me ON stage, it’s about what I was going through OFF stage.”
9. Taylor says there are do’s and don’ts of leaving Easter eggs for fans. They’ll always point to her music . . . and never her personal life.
10. She’s currently obsessed with making sourdough bread, and says she talks about bread 60% of the time now.
