A Sangamon County jury on Thursday found a Springfield man guilty of first-degree murder for the shooting death of a woman in April 2021.
The jury also found 47-year-old Jahsen Thomas guilty of aggravated battery with a firearm for the death of 37-year-old Courtney Smith of Springfield at a residence on Lincoln Avenue.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 18.
