An early morning fire damaged a house and a detached garage in Springfield.
Around 2am Thursday the Springfield Fire Department responded to a fire in the 2000 block of East Monroe Street.
The firefighters from Engine 5 were able to successfully extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
