State Senator Sally Turner Files Bill For Utility Rebates

By Greg Halbleib Sep 4, 2025 | 5:23 AM

State Senator Sally Turner has filed legislation to create a rebate program to help low-income families pay utility bills.

The Republican from Beason said her bill would create the program through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to provide rebates to households with incomes from 100 percent to 500 percent of federal poverty guidelines.

Turner said those families often earn too much to qualify for traditional assistance.
