Gasoline prices in the area have dropped slightly over the past week but are higher than a month ago according to AAA.
The agency said the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Springfield today is $3.33, down about two cents from a week ago.
The average price a month ago was $3.26 and was $3.35 a year ago.
