Sangamon County authorities are investigating the death of a man found Wednesday morning along a roadway in the Cabbage Patch neighborhood of unincorporated Springfield.
The coroner’s office and sheriff’s office detectives were called to Woodward Avenue and Henry Street at about 6:30 am where they found a white male approximately 60 years old.
A county statement said there is no reason to suspect foul play. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
