A student was charged on Wednesday with making a terroristic threat against Taylorville High School.
Taylorville Police did not provide details of the threat. Taylorville school officials identified the student as a 14-year-old girl.
Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler said officers and Taylorville High School officials acted swiftly and confirmed no ongoing threat. Wheeler said every threat is taken seriously and consequences are severe, whether someone claims it was a joke or a real threat.
