By Ryan Fantozzi Sep 18, 2025 | 8:35 AM

The Artist Spotlight featured Sabaton for the first time today with their new single, “Crossing The Rubicon.” The song features Jonny Hawkins and Mark Vollelunga of Nothing More. The song will be on the band’s upcoming album “Legends” which will be out October 17th.

Here is what the band had to share about the song:

““Crossing The Rubicon” was written about Gaius Julius Caesar (100–44 B.C.), who rose from a patrician family to become consul of Rome. In his position, he enacted reforms to curb corruption and ease taxation. As a general, he expanded Roman territory through victories in Gaul, defeating the Arverni, Helvetii and Belgae. His growing power led him to cross the Rubicon, sparking civil war. Victorious in Italy, Greece and Egypt, he returned as dictator, introducing the Julian calendar and public works reforms. Assassinated on the Ides of March, his legacy endures as a brilliant strategist and leader who reshaped Rome.”

You can hear the song again today at 130 & 730 PM.
