The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office reports making another burglary arrest with the help of its new drone team. The sheriff’s office said a caller found a person inside his vehicle at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 8800 block of Cardinal Hill Road near New City.
Deputies arrested 46-year-old Jesse Bates of Peoria Heights after the drone operator found him lying in a nearby bean field.
The suspect’s truck was found in the caller’s back yard and was towed.
The vehicle’s owner reported it stolen shortly afterward and a report was filed with Taylorville Police with additional charges possible.
