Springfield Woman Arrested for Firing Shot Into Air in Playground Dispute

A Springfield woman has been arrested after she fired a gun during a playground dispute.

On September 20th around 7p Springfield police responded to multiple calls about a woman firing a gun near a playground at 1683 Seven Pines Rd.

Tatanna Amick admitted to authorities to firing one shot into the air during a confrontation with a man. Amick says she fired the gun in self-defense after the man had punched her.

Amick, holds a valid FOID and CCL in Illinois, yet was deemed to have used her firearm unlawfully by exiting her apartment and firing the weapon.
