Pick-up lines losing their punch …
According to dating experts and app users, pick-up lines are slowly dying out. Before dating apps and social media, singles – usually guys – had to approach potential partners in person and get their attention.
Sometimes – with varying degrees of success – the approach involved a cheesy pick-up line, like “Did it Hurt? When You Fell From Heaven” or “Are You a Broom? Cuz You Just Swept Me Off of My Feet”.
Pick-up lines were at the peak of their powers with Boomers and Gen X. And now, pick-up lines are in grave danger of going extinct as singles prefer authenticity and cringe-free conversation.
Or, fall back on the timeless (and lazy) Tinder message: “U up?”
