Springfield is making the new Women’s Pro Baseball League a league of their own.

The WPBL announced on Monday that its inaugural season in 2026 will be played entirely at Robin Roberts Stadium.

Operations will be managed by Golden Rule Entertainment, the ownership group of the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes summer collegiate baseball team in the Prospect League.

The WPBL season will consist of four teams playing a seven-week schedule beginning in early August.

Golden Rule and Lucky Horseshoes Chief Storyteller Jamie Toole said the Prospect League wraps up in early August, which fits the WPBL schedule.

Toole said Robin Roberts Stadium will continue hosting women’s baseball in 2027 with the introduction of the WPBL’s developmental league.  The WPBL’s inaugural draft is this Thursday.
