Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 4 arrested 68-year-old Merle E. Monroe of Springfield, IL for charges related to possessing child sexual abuse materials.
After an investigation that was started in October Monroe was charged by the Sangamon County State’s Attorney on November 19th with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography a Class 2 Felony and three counts of Possession of Child Pornography a Class 3 Felony.
Monroe was arrested on November 24th and is being held at the Sangamon County Jail.
