Governor JB Pritzker signed a bill that will protect and expand vaccine access to Illinoisans.
According to the Governor, the signing of this bill ensures Illinoisans will receive clear, science-based immunization guidelines as federal recommendations grow more contradictory and confusing.
The bill also establishes the ability for IDPH to create and publish vaccine guidelines for Illinoisans based on experts from the Illinois Immunization Advisory Committee.
It also requires that State-regulated health insurance issuers cover vaccines and related administration based on IDPH recommendations, even if they extend beyond ACIP schedules.
