A Springfield auto dealership is celebrating 60 years in business, all operated by three generations of the same family.
Friendly Chevrolet held a celebration on Tuesday at its showroom on Prairie Crossing Drive.
John Schroeder established the dealership in 1965, and his daughter Susan Langheim took over as dealer in 1997. Her daughter Courtney Harby joined Friendly in 2018.
Susan said Friendly’s family roots are reflected in how the dealership serves the community. Courtney said it was an easy choice for her to join Friendly seven years ago.
Both said Friendly’s foundation of community involvement stems from the family nature of the business.
